چکیده مقاله:
Cancer is a complication in which abnormal cells proliferate uncontrollablyand can infect nearby tissues. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third mostcommon cancer in the world and ۲nd leading cause of death in humans becauseof cancer. lncRNAs involved in tumor formation, angiogenesis, proliferation, migration, apoptosis, and differentiation. They often act as a tumor suppressoror oncogene. DA۱۲۵۹۴۲ is a lncRNA located on chromosome ۱۲ which is coexpressedwith vitamin D receptor (VDR) in breast cancer tissues. VDRsignaling prevents multiplying of cancer cells, increases cell adhesion, andinhibits the invasive capacity of cells and metastasis. Vitamin D deficiency isassociated with a high rate of CRC incidence and mortality and VDRexpression in tumor stromal fibroblasts has led to a better clinical outcome inCRC. VDR activated by vitamin D۳ binds to the Cystatin D (CST۵) promoter, activates it, which results in an increase of RST and CST۵ in human coloncancer cells. CST۵ acts as a tumor suppressor by antagonization of theWnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway, repression of c-MYC, and the epithelialmesenchymaltransition inducers SNAI۱, SNAI۲, ZEB۱, and ZEB۲expression, and induction of the expression of E-cadherin and other adhesionproteins. Tumor suppressor activity of CST۵ may contribute to the antitumoralaction of VDR and ۱alpha,۲۵(OH)۲D۳ in colon cancer. We propose that LncDA۱۲۵۹۴۲ plays important role in CRC because of its co-expression withVDR.
