چکیده مقاله:
It is very important to diagnose lung cancer in the early stage since it is oneof the most common and deadly cancers. Several studies have shown thatnext-generation sequencing can be a very helpful tool for the early detectionof cancers, including lung cancer, and is widely used in the clinic because ofits low cost, speed, efficacy, and the lack of biological sample requirements.Databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and PubMed are used to accessarticles for this review study. Keywords used include “Next-generationsequencing”, “NGS”, “cancer” and “personalized treatment”.NGS has been used successfully both in research and in the clinic and hasbecome one of the main tools in the diagnosis of lung cancer and is able todetect specific changes in lung cancer in a variety of biological samples suchas blood, plasma, fresh frozen tissue. Or FFPE, urine, or other body fluids.Because of its many advantages over FISH and IHC, the NGS technique hasbecome the primary tool for examining different types of samples andsubtypes of different types of lung cancer, which is used to assess mutationsand identify fusion changes. However, NGS offers several advantages that make it ideal for theevaluation of a high number of biomarkers in a short period of time, fromsmall biological samples, and at a low price. The idea of liquid biopsy, anew concept in oncology, should be developed using NGS to develop testingfor personalized medicine.
