Genetics of eye diseases

Scientists have identified many genes and their variants that can affect oureyesight and eye health. Early detection, using genetic testing, can helpassess patients' conditions for developing treatment plan (s) and subsequentcare to prevent vision complications later. The purpose of this study is toprovide up-to-date information on ophthalmic genomic medicine. Relevantinformation was searched from Pub med, Scopus, Google Scholardatabases, and data analysis was performed qualitatively. Data analysis wasperformed qualitatively. Due to recent advances in genetic knowledge in thefield of eye diseases, the process of diagnosis and treatment is moresuccessful, and molecular genetic tests allow better management andtreatment options in patients. We believe that it has tremendous potential fordiscovering genetic consequences in ocular diseases and patients' allergies.A network-based approach is likely to have a promising effect on thetreatment of premature eye diseases by modifying pathways associated withcongenital eye diseases and combining therapies based on genes and smallmolecules. Genetic testing can really have a positive impact on patients andtheir families. With an early clinical diagnosis of genetic disorders, detailedadvice can be provided to families.
