چکیده مقاله:
Lung cancer is the most common reason of death caused by cancer in bothmen and women. More than one million people are diagnosed throughout theworld with lung cancer annually. Also, it has been reported that lung cancer inmost patients is diagnosed when tumors are heterogeneous and single therapyis often ineffective. Although there are several drugs and treatment methodsfor lung cancer, the rate of survival in patients has not been developedsignificantly in the last five years. Recent studies on CRISPR/Cas۹ fortargeting multiple genes might bring a way to treat several mutations of aheterogeneous tumor in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) which accountsfor ∼۸۰% of all lung cancers and small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) which covers۱۵–۲۰% of all lung cancers. This is an overview study. The keywords “CRISPR/Cas۹”, “Lung cancer”,“gene therapy” and “knockout” were used for the search in PubMed, Web ofScience, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases for studies published.Generally, cas۹ can locate any gene selectively in the target tissue and inhibit, suppress, active, translocate, invert or proliferate them. Therefore,CRISPR/Cas can act as an efficient treatment method to treat lung cancers. Inthis review, CRISPR/Cas۹ is used to knock out four prominent genes in lungcancer, including EGFR, KRAS, MYCN, and CD۳۸ checked in vivo andshows the effect of CRISPR/Cas۹ in inhibiting the proliferation and increaseof cancer apoptotic cells.
