چکیده مقاله:

Polyploidy is a common biological phenomenon that mainly occursin human cancers. These giant cells are characterized bymultinucleated or giant mononucleated cells. They contain multiplecomplete copies of chromosomes and are often found in a subset ofadult organs and the embryonic stage of the human embryo. Themechanisms leading to the formation of polyploid giant cancer cellsmay be due to endoreplication, mitotic slippage, cytokines failure, and response to genotoxic stresses such as chemotherapy, radiation, hypoxia, oxidative stress, or environmental. These polyploid giantcancer cells, abbreviated as PGCCS, may represent an earlydevelopme۱ntal program in response to glandular secretion andstress to produce cancer cells programmed for cancer treatment, tumor recurrence, malignancy, immunosuppression, and metastasis. That’s why they are considered as a potential initiator of cancer anda mechanism of resistance to stressful therapeutic agents orconditions. Further perception of the precise molecular mechanismsand identification of new factors for the removal of PGCCs couldprovide a different perspective on cancer in the future, and thatthose aged PGCCs may represent a newly recognized mechanismfor the birth of a new neoplastic life. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular mechanismof cell division, tumorigenesis, and common mechanisms in theformation of polyploid giant cancer cells, indicating a new field ofresearch in cancer biology and may represent a key role in tumorformation, disease recurrence, and metastasis.
