A review on the production of recombinant antibacterial peptides through plant tissue culture and production of hairy roots.

Resistance to common antibiotics is one of the most important global challenges, and one of theappropriate solutions in this field is the replacement of strong antimicrobial peptides instead of antibioticsin the control of important diseases. As biological reactors, plants are able to produce substancesincluding protein. To produce a specific protein, relevant genes are introduced into plant cells throughgene transfer methods, and through tissue culture methods, plant explants are used to produce hairy roots,and recombinant peptides are extracted and used in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, and veterinaryindustries. It is used in the food industry.
