Given that in the view of cognitive psychology, a person s performance and behavior are directly influenced by his thoughts and today psychological preparation has a very effective role in learning motor skills, it seems that more research is needed in this area. In recent years, the literature on the use of psychological skills has become rapidly available. Most literature on PST use the expressions “psychological skills” and “mental techniques” more or less interchangeably, whereas some authors The purpose of current study was to examine the effect of Psychological Skills Training on acquisition and learning of volleyball service in High school girl students.The research was semi experimental in terms of applied purpose and method - pre-test, post-test and retention - with the control group. In this study, ۶۰ female high school students from Tehran with an age range of ۱۲ to ۱۵ years, volleyball students were selected by available and randomly and equally in four groups of self-talk, mental imagery, combination and control The task of this research included the AAHPERD volleyball service test. The intervention also included ۲۴ sessions of Burton & Raedeke (۲۰۱۰) Psychological Skills Training. Data analyzed with ANOVA with repeated measure, One way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc statistical methods.The results indicated that self talk; mental imagery and combination interventions have significant effect on acquisition and learning of simple service in High school girl students. The results indicated that combination intervention the best intervention than other intervention.The PST program appeared to be most effective on imagery skills, relaxation, activation, focusing, and refocusing. They are recommended for systematic application by athletes and coaches.
