چکیده مقاله:

Today, much emphasis has been placed on the role of physical activity in increasing the function of the cardiorespiratory system and controlling viral diseases. Studies have shown that aerobic exercise improves pulmonary function. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of ۸ weeks of aerobic exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness and pulmonary function in men with Covid-۱۹.For this purpose, ۴۰ men with Covid-۱۹ with a mean age (۳۳.۱۴±۴.۸۲ years) and BMI (۲۷.۱۱±۲.۰۵ kg.m۲) were randomly divided into ۲ groups of ۲۰ people including aerobic exercise and control. Aerobic exercise with the intensity of ۶۵ to ۷۵% of maximum oxygen consumption was performed for ۸ weeks and three sessions per week. Anthropometric indices, body composition, Vo۲max, FVC, TV, IRV, ERV, MVV, PIV, PEV, and FEV۱/FVC were measured in pre-test and post-test. The collected data were analyzed using an independent t-test and paired t-test at a significance level of α = ۰.۰۵.There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of variables measured in the pre-test (p >۰.۰۵). The results showed that the maximum oxygen consumption in the aerobic exercise group had a significant increase of ۱۱.۳۵% (p = ۰.۰۰۱). Aerobic exercise significantly increased MVV, ERV, PIV, PEV, and FEV۱/FVC (p <۰.۰۵). Significant differences were observed between the two groups in all measured variables (p <۰.۰۵).Therefore, it seems that aerobic exercise for ۸ weeks can have a beneficial and positive effect on cardiorespiratory fitness and pulmonary function in men with Covid-۱۹.
