In recent years, physical attractiveness has become a purposeful thing in the structure of people s lives; So that in addition to women who follow slimming patterns, in men, it manifests itself more by building a ۵ muscle organ. Due to the fact that athletes attach great importance to their body and physical characteristics, the tendency to improve fitness, build massive muscles and increase physical strength in athletes is more evident than other sections of society. However, the tendency to have a muscular body can be associated with destructive physical and psychological dangers. The use of ergogenic substances in sports has always been considered by regulatory bodies due to individual and social effects. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of mental toughness and perfectionism in the use of banned substances.The present study is a comparative study in terms of causal method. The statistical population of the study consisted of male bodybuilders in Kermanshah. ۱۰۰ bodybuilders included; ۵۰ bodybuilders using energy and ۵۰ non-bodybuilders using cluster sampling were selected as statistical samples. The instruments used in the study included a demographic information questionnaire, a mental strength questionnaire and a sports perfectionism questionnaire.After examining the normality of data distribution through Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test, statistical method of two independent groups was used to analyze the data. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups of bodybuilders consuming and non-consuming energy products in terms of mental strength and its subscales (p <۰.۰۵). The other part of the results also showed perfectionism. Incompatibility There is a significant difference between the two groups of consuming and non-consuming bodybuilders (p <۰.۰۵).From the findings, it can be concluded that high levels of inconsistent perfectionism and low levels of stubbornness may increase the desire to consume energetic substances in individuals. Therefore, it is suggested that sports trustees take care to teach psychological skills.
