چکیده مقاله:

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is described as a chronic autoimmune, inflammatory neurologic disease of the central nervous system .the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ۸ weeks of proprioceptive training on motor function, fatigue and quality of life in women with Multiple Sclerosis in Isfahan city.In this quasi-experimental study, the statistical population included women aged ۲۰ to ۴۰ years who were registered through the Isfahan MS society in ۲۰۱۹ with Expanded Disability Status Score (EDSS)between ۲-۴. The sample consisted of ۲۰ patients who were simple randomly selected and divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group performed ۸ week Proprioceptive training program ۳ times a week and each session lasting ۶۰ minutes, whereas the control group was instructed to maintain their current lifestyle. At the beginning of the study and after ۸ weeks, the motor performance of the subjects in the two groups was measured by the test of Timed up and Go and fatigue and their quality of life was measured by fatigue severity scal (FSS) and multiple sclerosis quality of life (MSQoL-۵۴) questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and through analysis of covariance and pird t tests with SPSS software at a significance level of ۰.۰۵.the results showed that there was a significant diffrence in motor function, FSS and MSQoL-۵۴ before and after Proprioceptive training program in the experimental group (P = ۰.۰۰۱). There was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in motor function, FSS and MSQoL-۵۴ women with MS (P = ۰.۰۰۱).eight week Proprioceptive training program led to increased motor function, reduced FSS and improved quality of life of women. Therefore, the use of this training program is recommended for women with multiple sclerosis an EDSS of ۲- ۴.
