چکیده مقاله:
Exercise has many physical and mental benefits. Evidence has shown that aerobic exercise can improve cognitive function. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise with two simple and complex patterns on cognitive function. In this study ۲۴ female students ۲۰-۳۰ years who did not have a history of regular exercise during the last six months of sampling, were randomly divided into two groups (simple and complex) of ۱۲ people. Two subjects within ۴ weeks did the exercise protocol. The simple exercise protocol (running) and complex exercise (aerobic) includes three repeats just ۱۰ minutes (۱۰ × ۳), for a total of ۳۰ minutes, was resting ۲-۳ minutes between each repetition. Exercise at ۶۵ ۵۰% of maximum oxygen consumption (VO۲max) of ۱۲ ۱۳ Borg scale and a ۵ minute cool down and warm up was carried out. To measure cognitive function, multiplication test was used, and the Shuttle Test was used to measure VO۲max. Data analysis by independent and paired t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient at a significance level of p <۰.۰۵ was used. The results showed that although the Digit Span has significantly increased in the complex exercise group, but found no significant difference between the two groups in terms of Digit Span. VO۲max increased significantly in both groups but there was no significant correlation among Digit Span and VO۲max.According to obtained data, ۴ weeks of aerobic exercise with two sports model simple and complex, there was no significant difference in cognitive function. Consequently, the results suggest that cognitive performance changes are not related to the maximum changes in oxygen consumption and also between cognitive and VO۲max cognitive changes.
