چکیده مقاله:
Drilling operation in other planets anddiscovery of their available resources, as well asexploiting oil and gas fields of earth planet have focusedthe attention of the researchers on finding some ways toreduce drilling time and cost. In this regard, the use ofoptimized and well-designed drilling tools, especiallydrilling bits, seems to be very essential. Concerning thisissue, a proper and reliable estimation of the rockcutting process using diamond bits could be efficient inthis process. On the other hand, the simulation andmodeling of the cutting process is a complex issue forwhich various methods have been proposed. In thispaper, concerning the special conditions of rock cutting, the drilling process mechanical analysis was donethrough smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (SPH) andLS-DYNA was used for analysis purpose. Finally, theresults of using this method were investigated.Furthermore, the effect of different rake angles was alsoinvestigated. Concerning the hydrodynamic behavior ofsmoothed particles and the appropriate velocity ofmeshing and analysis, as well as the heterogeneities ofmaterials such as rock in this code, this method could beconsidered as suitable for drilling analysis.
