Investigation and Identification chemical components of essential oilfrom Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh

Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Apiaceae family, aromatic plant,this plant, known as Kefe cumin, horse caraway, gladich or three-lobed sermountain, grows in Iran.This plant is used as its extracts are recommended for the treatment of a wide range of diseases. Toconduct this study, plant and seeds of Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh. were collected fromMazandaran province, Iran, therefore, the aim of the present study is to investigate chemicalcomposition of its essential oil of Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh. The compositions of water distillatedessential oils of Laser trilobum (L.) Borkh. Seeds and plant from Iran, essential oils were extractedby water distillation (Cleveanger type apparatus), essential oil yield was obtained from seed۲.۲۸%, from plant ۰.۱۱%. For investigated of chemical components were using GC and GC/MS.The major constituents in the seeds were limonene (۷۲.۴۵%), perilla alcohol (۲۲.۰۱%) and α-bulnesene (۱.۰۷%). The major constituents of the plant are limonene (۲۶.۲۱%), perilla alcohol(۲۴.۹۶%) and caryophyllene oxide (۵.۳۱%). According to our investigation limonene have antiinflammatory,antioxidant, anti-stress, and possibly disease-preventing properties properties anduses, and perillyl alcohol has shown some antitumor activity in laboratory and animal studies, butclinical trials in humans have shown no evidence of benefit, and have noted adverse side effects.perillyl alcohol is a metabolite of limonene, which itself is formed from geranyl pyrophosphate inthe mevalonate pathway.
