Evaluation of the use of rubbers and plastics in the manufacture of concrete

The use of rubbers and plastics to improve the mechanical properties of concrete, as well as reduce aggregate consumption and pollution from its production, has accelerated in the last decade. Also, due to the increase in the production of rubbers and plastics, due to the increase in demand and many problems in the recycling of these materials, it is necessary to pay attention to rubbers and plastics in the manufacture of concrete. Therefore, in this research, the application of rubbers and plastics in concrete construction is evaluated. For this purpose, after the introduction, the use of concrete in construction and then the use of rubber and plastic in concrete will be discussed. In the next step, the environmental and economic effects of the use of plastics and rubber in concrete are also examined. Finally, researchers' studies are reviewed. The results of this study show that the use of rubber and plastic in concrete, in addition to reducing construction costs as well as reducing environmental pollution and improving environmental conditions, can also improve some of the mechanical properties of concrete.
