Analysis and investigation of some valves used in oil and gas industries

Valves are critical components of a pipe system. They are the most important parts of the oil andgas sector, and they serve a variety of functions. Valves are used to manage flow, safeguard equipment,and refine crude oil in the upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. A valve is a mechanicalcomponent in a piping system that is used to open and stop fluid passages, prevent fluid return, controlflow, or provide safety. The most common mechanical device used in process operations is the valve.Valves are used to control the flow of liquids and gases in piping systems. In a plumbing system, valvesprovide a variety of functions. In the oil and gas sector, valves are an integral feature of any pipingsystem. As a result, they play an important role in a wide range of activities and applications. Liquids,gases, viscous materials, and corrosive mediums are all encountered by valves in the oil and gasindustry. In this article, five types of valves such as ball valve, butterfly valve, globe valve, gate valveand poppet valve have been analyzed. The design and overall operation of the valves are also discussed.
