GIS based Method for Restoration of Power Distribution Networks

One of major problems in power utilities is prolonged outages and afterwards customers’ complaints. All applied methods are focused on shorten duration of outages, reenergizing healthy parts and isolating defective sections. Obviously, this action which is named restoration is influenced by cost of desired implementation. In this paper, new method based on Geographic Information System and reliability indices, is proposed which considers amount of lost load, fault location, accessible capacity and optimal restoration plan
