بررسی و نقد نظریه «نیوبرگ» درباره همبستگی بین اعمال مذهبی و مغز بر اساس الگوی الهیات اعصاب

“Neuroethology” as interdisciplinary and new theology topic tries to make connection between science and religion by studying and reviewing correlated physiologic of human brain in mystical experiences through scanning religious people’s brain. Professor “Andrew Newberg”, the contemporary doctor and researcher of religious studies is intended to express a new solution in form of a methodology in resolving the relation between science and religion and creating common fields for thinking and religious life by proving religious experiences scientifically. In this article in addition of introducing this major, we will review the solutions and results of researches being carried by Newberg in analyzing and proving religious experience and his level of success in his claim. The relation of brain and mind, religious experience and spirituality are among topics which have been reviewed by Newberg research and studies. And we will elucidate and review the results and outcomes of such researches. Even though there are some criticism against the basis of Newberg’s findings and his methodology is not completely feasible, yet providing answer for topics and issues such as the nature of religion, awareness of human and the possibility of universal awareness, how to reach calmness and being good and how is it possible for all the humans to reach a new level of understanding could explain the importance of such major.
