New simple method for control of water loss and gas consumption in tankless gas water heaters for residential buildings

In this paper, we have attempted to prevent water loss and temperature reduction in hot water inside the heat exchanger of a tankless gas water heater using an intelligent electrical circuit with three solenoid valves and a storage tank. Also, with transferring hot water into the water heater heat exchanger to the hot water storage tank, it prevents the formation of deposits inside copper pipes and increases the thermal resistance and consequently increases the gas consumption. With designing and implementing this system on Butane model water heater and performing the necessary experiments, the results of experiments indicate a relatively good savings in water consumption as well as energy consumption. In the various states tested in this paper, the volume of water stored in the tank reaches about ۲۷۰ ml.
