چکیده مقاله:

With the advancement of machine technology and new materials, the importance of emerging machining processes such as wirecut EDM, especially in the manufacture of parts with small dimensions or made of relatively high hardened materials, has multiplied. In this research, first the controllable input parameters are determined by reviewing the literature of recent articles in this field and then the scope is limited by considering the input settings of each specific WEDM machine. Then, the desired output parameters of the customer for each specific project are determined by survey .The relative importance of needs is known by comparison and weighting. The results are embedded in a standard QFD matrix, customer needs are translated into machine settings, and a final overall quality function is created in terms of input settings. The components of this matrix are obtained from the results of experiments designed and performed by the Taguchi orthogonal arrays (here L۹). Finally, the function subjected into an optimization process and is maximized. In other words, it is determined what settings should be regulated in the input of the machine in order to achieve maximum customer satisfaction.A case study on a Robofil ۳۱۰ F wirecut machine is performed for a sample customer (a mold and tool manufacturer) and the proposed algorithm is validated.
