چکیده مقاله:

Silver nanoparticles (AgNP) are one of the most important nanomaterials that have widespread applications in different industries, which in turn extensive use of it increases the potential of release and accumulation in aquatic ecosystem. Due to the importance of evaluating the toxicity of metal nanoparticles in valuable aquatic species, the present study aimed to investigate the sub-acute effects of silver nanoparticles on immune responses of Mugil cephalus. In present study, at first the LC۵۰ test of silver nanoparticles were studied based on the standard OECD (۱۹۹۸) method within ۹۶ hours. Finally, after determining the ۵۰% lethal concentration (LC۵۰), the fish were exposed to sublethal silver nanoparticles concentrations (equivalent to ۲۵, ۵۰ and ۷۵% LC۵۰ of AgNPs) for ۱۴ days. To measure the activity of lysozyme, total serum protein and IgM fish were sampled for blood collection on day ۱۴. LC۵۰ value of AgNP in Mugil cephalus were determined to be ۴.۳۷ mg/L. The results showed that lysozyme and serum complement activity of fish exposed to ۷۵% LC۵۰ of AgNPs were significantly decreased compared with control group (p>۰.۰۵). Total protein of serum and total immunoglobulin in the samples, although on different treatments had decreased or increased volatility, but this increase or decrease compared with the control group was not statistically significant (p>۰.۰۵). Overall, the results showed that exposure to ۷۵% LC۵۰ of AgNPs induce the immune response of Mugil cephalus.
