چکیده مقاله:

The exact knowledge of the human spine's anatomy is essential to help evaluate its biomechanical performance and to understand clinical issues such as back pain. In this study anatomical features of human lumbar spine and its relationship with biomechanical performance have been investigated. The ۳D lumbar spine geometry based on CT scan images were reconstructed and the anatomical and sagittal parameters of the spine such as vertebra and disc angle, lumbar Spinous Process (LSP) distance and thickness, Lumbar Lordosis (LL), Sacral Slope (SS) and Pelvic Incidence (PI) and Range of motion (ROM) of lumbar vertebrae of people with different lumbar curvatures were calculated and then the relationships between these parameters and their effect on the range of motion were assessed. The results indicated there was a direct correlation between Lumbar Lordosis, Pelvic Incidence and sacral slop. Although Lumbar Lordosis and Spinous Process distance had no correlation in male subjects, but between the Lumbar Lordosis and S۱-L۵, L۵-L۴ and L۴-L۳ Spinous distances were inverse correlation in female subjects. Also, the range of motion is not related to the Pelvic Incidence and Lumbar Lordosis.
