چکیده مقاله:

Maize is one of the most important cereal crops in Ukraine with tremendous possibilities of its diversified utility. Thus, using molecular techniques combining with classical breeding methods of agronomical traits assessment is actual. The purpose of this study was the selection of drought resistant maize lines for presence of favorable alleles of dhn۱ and rsp۴۱ genes and their evaluation by combining ability for agronomical traits. As result of this study favorable alleles for both dhnC۳۹۷ and rspC۱۰۹۰ (A/G) markers were identified in ۸ of ۱۴ studied maize lines. All testers contained at least one favorable allele by studied markers. The GCA for yield was high for RL۱ and Rl۲ lines during ۲۰۱۹-۲۰۲۰ ۹.۳۲ and ۸.۷۰ t*ha-۱ respectively. The lowest value of GCA for grain moisture content was detected for RL۱, RL۱۰ and RL۱ lines: -۳.۳۹%, -۱.۲۲ and -۱.۰۹% respectively. The high value of SCA was obtained for follow alleles combinations: (G/G)(A/G) tester and A/A of studied line – ۶.۰۴ t*ha-۱ in ۲۰۱۹; (G/G)(A/A) tester and A/A studied line – ۲.۴۹ t*ha-۱ in ۲۰۲۰. For graine moisture content the lowest value of SCA in ۲۰۱۹ was found in combination: (G/G)(G/G) tester and A/A of studied line -۱.۷۹% in ۲۰۱۹ and -۰.۶۵% in ۲۰۲۰. Thus, maize lines and testers which shown high value for yield and low values of GCA and SCA for grain moisture content have practical value for heterosis breeding.
