Effects of replacement of biodegradable polymers with conventional polymers in industry

Increasing the volume of consumed polymers and plastics has provided some problems in packaging andis considered a significant and serious challenge and it is felt that emergency action is required to take inorder to solve the problem. These substances have many advantages but their nature of non-degradabilityin the environment has caused that managing the material wastes to be a significant discussion in theworld. The nature of being biodegradability in plastic substances and polymers has been provided usingaccelerator chemicals and they are usually applied in various industries including the packaging industry.Polymers with the capability of biodegradability, plastics, and their applications have been brieflyexamined in this paper ad in the following parts, the types of polymers, packaging substances, and properand right ways to apply them have been explained and investigated. The main objective to use plasticswith the capacity of biodegradability is to absorb these substances in the environment. The nature ofbiodegradability in plastics will be significant if micro-organisms apply them as an energy resource in themetabolic processes and also as a carbon resource to grow and renew their generation.
