چکیده مقاله:
Scour has caused many bridge failures during last decades. In this study, riprap apron with different geometry examined under-clear water condition around spill-through abutment. In addition, shear and edge failure and riprap volume with different shape were investigated. It is illustrated that under new geometry, edge failure reduced and selecting proper dimension prevented shear failure around spill-through abutment. Furthermore, designing new geometry, yielded riprap volume reduction about ۳۲ in spill-through abutment
