Optical Nonlinearity and Optical Limiting Performance of Disperse Blue ۱/Dioxane via Z-Scan Technique

The absorption performance and evolution of the organic dye disperse blue ۱ (DB۱) in dioxane at different concentrations was investigated. The nonlinear absorption coefficient has been measured through the open aperture Z-scan technique, whose values increased exponentially from ۰.۹۹۷×۱۰-۳ to ۱۱.۷×۱۰-۳ cm/W as the dye concentration increased from ۳.۷×۱۰-۵ to ۷۴.۶×۱۰-۵ M. Also, DB۱ optical power limiting characteristics appeared at high laser light intensities, whereby very dilute solution of the order of ~۱۰-۴ M was sufficient to limit the transmitted ‎power of the incident laser light by ~۹۰%.
