Estimation of surface runoff in a watershed based on the rate of received precipitation and quantifying discharge at the outlet is essential in hydrologic studies. This study used the HEC-HMS hydrological model (version ۴.۲.۱) to simulate the rainfall-runoff process at the Abadeh watershed in the south of Iran. We used SCS Curve Number, SCS Unit hydrograph and Lag routing, respectively, to compute infiltration, rainfall excess conversion to runoff and flow routing. Rainfall-runoff simulation has been conducted using three rainstorm events. The results showed that the model could be used reasonably in hydrologic simulation in the Abadeh watershed.
