What is Happening in Today's Architecture in Muslim Societies?

This paper aims to be aware of how we can truly recognize what has been happening in the built environment in contemporary Muslim societies. This study firstly giveshistorical paradigms from when Islamic architecture began in the ۷th century to the ۱۹th century when an ambiguity in Islamic architecture started to grow by both colonization and combination with western architecture and then in the late ۲۰th century reinforced by globalization and information technology. After, it tries to adopt an approach to dig down in contemporary Islamic architecture, and consequently introduces the Aga khan award for architecture as a beneficial tool.
