Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Screening tests are the basis for early detection. The purpose this Study was to Design, Implementation and Evaluation of theory–based intervention program on promoting screening behavior of breast cancer in employed women Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: First, a cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence of screening behaviors with the participation of ۵۰۱ women employed by stratified random sampling method. Then, using a randomized controlled trial, the effectiveness of two types of educational interventions (workshop and E-learning)was compared with the control group. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version ۲۳ using chi-square test, ANOVA and paired t-test. Results: The results showed that only ۹% of women performed Breast self-examination behavior monthly. The predictive protection motivation theory for Breast self-examination was ۲۵%. There was a significant difference between the mean score of knowledge and the constructs of Protection Motivation Theory and Social Support Theory between the study groups (P<۰.۰۰۱).Also, there was a significant difference in breast self-examination screening between intervention and control groups during the three months after the intervention. Conclusion: The frequency of practice of BSE in women is low. Therefore, it is imperative to periodically emphasize the importance of early breast cancer diagnosis for them and considering to the influence of social support as provocative factor for doing Screening, paying attention to the effective people on women in designing educational interventions is necessary.
