Investigation the Performance of Public Green Buildings in Coronavirus Epidemic Situation

Nowadays, environmental problems such as climate change, energy crisis and greenhouse effects have been the most significant reason to grow the popularity of green buildings. In addition to the advantages of this type of buildings in reducing the negative effects of mentioned factors, they provide a comfortable environment for the residents. However, the conditions of public green buildings somehow can play an important role in coronavirus environments. Public places like schools, libraries and hospitals can spread coronavirus among more people as the number of users is high. Therefore, as a place with the most people gathering, the building is significant in the COVID-۱۹ prevention and control. This study shows green public buildings are capable to participate in the prevention and controlling this virus. Green roofs, optimized ventilation systems, capability to serve as temporary healthcare and other operations are the merit of green public buildings which makes these structures beneficial in the fight against COVID ۱۹.
