A new look at the relation of symmetry and regularity with Formian

Engineers always require efficient computational methods to obtain simply appropriate and accurate results in engineering problems. It is therefore reasonable to use every extra property of a structure such as regularity and symmetry of the model to simplify the configuration processing and computations. Considering the fact that regularity and symmetry often are present in the nature and engineering structures, this paper focuses on the definitions of the symmetry and regularity and categorizes the different types of symmetry. Formian is powerful software to process the configuration of spatial structures having numerous types of forms. In the present paper, we will classify symmetry and regularity and study how Formian functions can consider any type of symmetry and regularity.
