چکیده مقاله:

The experimental a nd theoretical study of surface pr operties such as surface tension has received increasing attention in the different scientific research fields[۱]. The scaled particle theory (S PT) of flui ds was prese nted by Reiss et al. and is concerne d primarily with system s of hard spheres [۱]. The scaled particle theory of fluids is so name d because it makes use of coupling parameter, which is a measure of the breadth of a molecule and its potential field rather th an the ampli tude of this potential [۱].By considering the fa ct that the s urface tensio n of a real fluid arises from a co mbination of both repulsive and attractive forces betwee n molecule s, a new e xpression for the interf acial tensio n (develope d SPT) has been derive d from scaled particle theory (SPT ) based on the work of cavity form ation and the interactio n energy b etween molecules[۲]. The results indicated th at the deve loped SPT in this work calculates the surfac e tensions much close r to the experimental data compar ed with those Reiss’s S PT theory.
