چکیده مقاله:

One of the most abundant was te materials in the west of Iran that can unlock the potentiality of these underutiliz ed renewable material s and provide a non-food based market for the agricultural industry is almond (Prunusd uleisamygda lus) shells. The almond shells gen erated in nuts processin g operation are regarded as waste material and are usuall y burnt, they can proba bly be used as fillers in FRPs. The effect of na noclay (NC ) loading ( ۰, ۲.۵, and ۵ phr) and almond shell flour (AS F) content (۴۰%) on t he strength properties of polypropylene comp osites was e valuated. The amount of maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MA) was c onstant at ۲ phr for all formulation s.The Mechanical properties such as tensile, fle xural were measured. Results revealed the fact that when N C and ASF were added, the flexur al and tensile strengths decreased slightly. The morpholog y of the co mposites containing different levels of NC has been examined by usin g X-Ray Diffraction ( XRD) and Scanning Ele ctron Microscopy (SEM ), respectively. XRD findings sho wed that with increasing NC content the peak was shifted to a lower a ngle, which implies fo rmation of the intercalation morpho logy. The m echanical properties of the composites blends m ade with ASF were further supported by SEM micrographs
