چکیده مقاله:

A cata lyst plays a significant role in the production of chemicals today and na nomaterials have the po tential for improving efficiency, s electivity an d yield of catalytic pro cess. The h igher surface to volume ratio means that much more catalyst is actively participatin g in the reaction. Transition metal oxides are used in various applications beca use of their specific o ptical, electrical and magnetic prop erties. Thes e materials represent a large class of heterogeneous catalysts widely used in many chemi cal reactions. Among them, copp er oxide (CuO) nanostructure is a P-type semiconductor with narrow band g ap of ۱.۲ e.V, which has a potential application in dye sensitive solar cells, gas and bio sensors, heterog eneous catalyst in many important chemical rea ction such a s coupling reaction and oxidation reactions. Be nzylic alcoho ls are often used in organic synthesis either as starting mat erials or as p rotecting groups. Vario us systems have been used to catalyzed the oxidation s uch as metal-catalyze d and heteropolyacide. Oxidation of them lead to ketone, ether and peroxide co mpounds. In this work, firstly we have synthesized CuO nanostructures and then used as nanocatalyst for oxidation of various benzylic alcohols, ar e here disclosed(scheme۱.)[۱-۳].
