چکیده مقاله:

The potential application of n anofluids i n mass tran sfer has not been much exploited yet. In fact, application of nanofluids promotes the rate of m ass transfer۱. The objec tive of this paper is to investigate t he effect of magnetic field on the mass transfer enhancement of aceti c acid from toluene to aqueous continuous phase wile modified magnetite nanoparticles are p resent in or ganic phase. Two adj ustable oscillating exte rnal electr omagnetic f ields have been employed. The magnetite nanoparticles used in t he nanofluids were synthesis wit h co-precipitation method.Mate rials and m ethods:The c hemical system of tolue ne-acetic acid-water was chosen. Fe۳O۴ (magnetite) nanopar ticles were prepared by the chemica l co-precipitation meth od. Magnetite nanofluid was prepared by dispersing pre-w eighed qua ntities of F e۳O۴ particles in toluene contain ing acetic acid. Different drop size forming w as provided using a variety of glass nozzles in a glass extr action column. To study the effect o f magnetic ¿eld, two external oscillating electromagnetic fields were used. The co ils were sim ilar and fixed located o utside and just at the middle of the glass column height. Th e angle bet ween coils axes was ۹۰º. The intensity at center of the coils could be up to ۲ tesla. he power supplier for electromagnetic fields could supply AC curren t with adjustable frequen cy and volt age. The exp eriments w ere conducte d at ۴۰ Hz.
