S olid-state ion selective electr ode based on modified nano c onductiv e polymer

Ion-selective electrode (ISE) is a potentiometric sens or having a potential response selectively to the specific io ns in solutio ns. Compared with oth er methods, the ISE-b ased analysis can provid e a fast, accurate, relia ble, portable, convenient and inexpensive analytical tech nique. We ch ose pencil g raphite as the material of the electrode because the pencil graphite elec trode (PGE) has a larger active electrode surface area and is therefore able to detect low concentrations an d/or volumes of the analyte [۱,۲].Mate rials and m ethods: All ch emicals obtained were of analytic al grade and were used without fur ther purification, except for aniline and pyrrole which was distilled b efore use. All metal io n solutions were prepared in doubly-distilled water. The standard Cu (II) solution wa s prepared from CuSO۴.۱۲H۲O as a ۰.۱۰ M so lution and was diluted when neces sary. Sunset yellow as carrier were purchased from Merck. The interfering cations were prepar ed from the respective metal chloride, nitrate a nd sulphate.
