The Synthesis of TiO۲ N anopartic les in order to Ads orption of Hg (II)From Aqu eous Solutions

Mercu ry is a very toxic and hazardous e lement to the human body and to the environment. Nano-sorbents ha ve emerged as a new area of resear ch with potential applic ation, due to their large surface area s, in removal of heavy m etal ions fr om liquid solutions. Among all nano scale metal oxides, TiO۲ nanocrysta ls have high potential f or environmental applic ations due to their physic al and chemical stability [۱]. In this study, we synthesized TiO۲ nanocrystals and investigated their application in the removal of Hg(II) from aqu eous solutions in the absence of other metals , f or the first time.
