چکیده مقاله:

Water and soil contamination due to their great environmental c oncern are among the active areas of research a mong researchers [۱]. U se of micro-Scale Zero valent iron used to be among methods of remediation of soil and underground wate r and takin g zero valent iron from micro scale to nano scal e made it mu ch superior [۲].Considering the significant influence of the size of particles on their reactivity [۳], other methods, except t he liquid ph ase reduction (LPR), do not suggest a systematic control over the size. Particles sy nthesized by using the LPR have amorphous structure. This charact eristic increases reactivit y of particles produce d by this method [۴]. Several strategies have been proposed for control over the size of the particles in r eduction method [۵, ۶]. Control over the size of the particles from ۷ to ۷۰ nm for more th an ۹۰ percent of the particles has been achiev ed by the introduction o f ethanol into reaction medium [۷].In this paper, N ZVI particles were synthesized by the drop wise addition of the NaBH۴ aqueous solution into Fecl۲.۴ H۲O aqueous solutions , which contain DI w ater and ethylene glycol. Using eth ylene glycol and water to the best of our know ledge, is a novel solvent for this purpose. Als o, the ratio of Ethylene glycol to D I water was changed a nd new pro ducts achiev ed
