Kine tics, Isoth erm and Thermod ynamic Studies of A dsorption of Blue ۵ ۶ From Aqueous Solution onto Sea shell Powder

Dyes ar e substance s that impart color material. Mankind has us ed dyes si nce the daw n of civilization. Hence attempts are made in this study to develop an inexpensive adsorben t for wastewater treatment using sea shell powder. The adsor ption of Blue ۵۶ by sea shell powder was investigated by varying the parameters such as agitation time, con centration, adsorbent dosage, pH and Temperature. The results showed that as the amount of the adsorbent increased , the percenta ge of dye removal increased accordingly. Op timum pH= ۲. Adsorption kinetics was determined by pseud o first orde r and pseud o second ord er models to the experimental data. The results indicated that the pseudo second order model proving the best descriptio n of Blue ۵۶ onto sea shel l powder th e experimental adsorption equilibrium data was analyze d by Langmuir,Freundli ch adsorptio n models. Based on c orrelation c oefficient (r۲) values, equilibrium data found fitted well to the Langmuir isotherm.
