چکیده مقاله:

The Cla us process is one of th e most co mmon proc esses to co nvert sulfur compounds into elemental sulfur. Claus process is formed from a high temperat ure furnace and several bed catalytic Claus process to enhan ce the production of ele mental sulfur. In the sulfur recovery unit, the furnace is one of the key stages [۱]. Researches show that the inp ut feed to th e sulfur recovery unit is not only containing H۲S, but also other compound s (such as ammonia) ar e into this u nit. In the refine ry operatio ns, ammonia as a bypro duct is entered into the f urnace of Claus unit. Studies show that the presen ce of ammo nia product ammonium salts in the furnace dow nstream units that these sub stances cause the catal yst deactivation and plugging of downstream e quipment. Hence,the prese nce of am monia in the feed of C laus unit, should be destroyed in the furnac e and prevente d from entering to the downstr eam units of furnac e. Therefore in this study thermokinetics eval uation of presence of ammonia in the furna ce of Claus unit has been investigated by CH EMKIN so ftware to determine the optimum process conditions from perspective of therm odynamics and kinetics to maximum removal of ammonia.
