Calc ulation of the pKb values of so me Anili ne derivatives in D MSO solution

The t endency of a compoun d to transfer a proton is a fundamental property to under stand many chemical and bioch emical pro cesses; consequently a good knowledge of the corresponding di sociation constants in various so lvents is essential for the study o f the gener al reactivity of a chemical compound. Although most exper imental pKb values have been determ ined in water, the incr easing importance of the chemistry in non-aqueous solvents has promo ted the determination of the basicity constan ts in them [۱]. In the present wo rk, a comp utational method has been developed to determine of value s for some aniline derivatives in dim ethylsulfoxide (DMSO) solution. T he results w ere compared with experimental data of pKb.
