Quantum stdy of effect of inhi bition som e Schiff base compounds in the mild steel corrosion in Sulfur ic acid en vironment

Mild steel is wid ely used as a substantial material in many industries such as power plants,petroleum industries and etc [۱], due to its low cost and good mechanical properties [۲-۳]. Acid solutions such as Hydro chloric aci d are widely used for t he removal of rust, indu strial cleaning, acid pic kling, petroc hemical pro cesses and acid descali ng of ferrous alloys and steel. Schiff bases, are organic compounds that due to the pres ence of the –C=N– g roup, electr onegative nitrogen, oxyg en and/or sulfur atoms in the molec ule, have b een reported to be efficient inhibitors of corrosi on for steel and alloys in acid media. Altho ugh experim ental means are useful to investigation the corrosion inhib ition but they are often time consu ming and co stly.
