چکیده مقاله:

Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of s erine /threo nine protein kinase . P KC isoforms play important role in the pathol ogy of several diseases such as ca ncer, diabetes, stroke, heart failure , and Alzheimer’s disea se. Therefore, PKC has been a subject of intensive research and drug d evelopment , particularly in cancer research. The C۱ doma ins of PKC have beco me an attractive target i n designing the its based drugs. Se veral classes of high-affinity ligands that target the C۱ do main have been previously describe d. Recently it was found that curc umin bind t o the C۱ do main and mo dulate PKC. [۱]Curcumin is the active ingredient of the dietary spice turmeric and has been consume d for medicinal purposes for tho usands of years. Modern science has shown that curc umin modulates various signaling molecules, including inflammat ory molecules, transcription factors, enzymes, protein kinases, protei n reductases , carrier pr oteins, cell survival proteins, drug resistance proteins [۲] There are some st udies about recognizing how PKC i s modulated by curcumin in vito and vivo [۳] bu t there isn ’t any theo retical study about it, so in the present stud y, we investigate intera ction of diff erent isomers of curcumin with PKC į by compu tational me thods.
