چکیده مقاله:

The corrosion behav ior of mild steel (st ۶۰) in ۰.۵ M sulfuric acid contai ning different amounts of ۳-methyl ۴-[۱- (۴- methoxy phenyl) methylidene] -۵- is o oxazolone and۳-methyl ۴-[۱- (۴- dimethyl. amino) phenyl ] -۵- iso oxazolone as an inhibitor at a temperature range ۲۵-۵۵۰C were inves tigated by potentiostatic and EI S techniques. Corrosion parameters (corrosion Potential, corrosion c urrent density, inhibiti on efficiency, cathodic Tafel slo ps and de gree of surface coverage) were obtained by plottinin gpotentios tatic polarization curves, then using the obtained param eters, the thermodynamic parameters (ǻGads , ǻHads , ǻSads , and Ea) w ere calculated. Temperature showed negative effects on the performance of inhibit ors and causes increase in the corrosion current density in the presence and absence of the inhibitor. The r esults indicate that incre asing the co ncentration of the inhibitor increase s the efficiency of the i nhibitor.The results also reveal that inhibitors are of mixted type, and their performance in controllin g the corrosion of steel is attribute d to the che mical/ physical adsorptio n.(EIS) graphs leading to calculated parameters such as polarization resistance via simulate d equivale nt circuits and showed the improve in inhib ition capability of the alloy with t he inhibitors, and finall y, SEM and infrared spectra are use d for surface analysis.
