Effect of surfac tant solutions on m ethanol s ynthesis c atalyst preparation

Methanol is mainly synthesized from syngas using ternary copper b ased catalyst Cu/ZnO/Al۲O۳ were prepared by co-precipitation method [۱]. The p erformances of Cu-base dcatalysts may be improved b y modifyi ng of the preparation methods. The catalyst composit ion and preparation c onditions may directly affect the structure an d interactio nbetween different components a nd related c atalyst performance [۲]. In the prese nt study, T he effect of washing by various surfactant solutions on p hysico-chem ical properties of copper oxide pr epared via precipitation method was investigated. In order tot, Increasin g the number of washing has succ essfully removed undesired nitrate. The used surfactants w as a non-ionic type, which reduce surface tension of water from ۷۲ to ۳۱ dyne/cm۳, used the Du Noüy rin g method (KSV sigma ۷۰۰).
