Complexat ion of tri oxide tung sten and p-sulfonat ocalix[۴]a rene In aqueous solution

Calix[n] arene characterized by their versatile molecular recognition properties towar ds neutral, cationic and anionic g uests and by their prop ensity to act as molec ularbuildin g blocks for the des ign of large supram olecular as semblies [۱,۲]. The water soluble calix[n]arene (n=۴-۸) derivatives have received considerable attentio n in recent years because of their selective m etal ion bindining properties in aqueous so lution, the formation of basket- like bilayer structures in the solid state, and the observation of H۲O…ʌ aromatic hydrogen bonding. C alixarenes have been studied in the context of electrochemical selective, sensor, stationary ph ases and solid phase e xtraction phases [۳, ۴]. Complex is known to be suitable starting mat erial to the C alixarene s upported org ano tungsten complex.
