Cotton Supply Chain Management; Critical success factors on sustainability

Global warming and vigorous use of synthetic items have affected cotton industry profoundly. The main producers of this product are facing a huge shrink in their revenues. This trend is terrorising the textile industry and other related businesses. A sustainable framework is necessarily required to elevate cotton supply chain management and protect business owners. In this study, some critical success factors are extracted to develop a sustainable cotton supply chain management framework. These measures are identified through literature review and expert opinions. The business size of the companies is also taken into account whether they are small, medium or large farming enterprises. These measures are classified into three main pillars of sustainability; economic, environmental and social. The proposed framework proves to be practical in developing sustainability policies and sustainable behaviour assessment of the cotton farmers.
