Background and Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction and mental health in the workplace of nurses at Golestan Hospital in Ahvaz.Methods: The total number of subjects in this study was ۱۷۵ (۱۴۴ males and ۳۱ females) nursing staff from whom Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (JDI) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) were taken. SPSS version ۱۸ was used for data analysis. Cronbach's alpha test and normality test were also used.Results: The results showed that people with higher health scores have lower satisfaction scores (r = -۰.۲۹۵ and p <۰.۰۵) that the correlation coefficient between these two variables indicates an inverse relationship. The variable of general health had a significant inverse relationship with all occupational components except the component of salaries and benefits.Discussion and conclusion: The highest frequency of education was at the undergraduate level and the highest distribution of the age index was between ۱۸ and ۴۲ years. The distribution status of the frequency of marriage and celibacy was almost the same. People with higher mental health scores have lower job satisfaction.
