EARTHQUAKES, TECTONIC ACTIVITIES AND LANDSLIDES

Landslides are detrimental features which cause serious life and financial losses every year throughout the world. It is impossible to present a design to mitigate or prevent the hazard without having exact knowledge of landslide specifications, specially mode of occurrence and depth. Earthquake of ۲۱ June ۱۹۹۰ of Gilan province of Iran , caused development of numerous landsides. Many of them occurred competent rocks.
