THE MECHANISM OF THE LEFT-HAND TRANSPRESSION BEHAVIOR OF THE TRACES OF AXES OF ANTICLINES IN FOOT HILL ZONE, NORTHERN XHUZESTAN PROVINCE, ZAGROS MOUNTAINS BELT, SOUTH WEST OF IRAN

The way of the rotation of the traces of axes of anticlines in foothill zone of Zagros mountains belt, (west of the city of Dezful) are specified with t-he left-hand transpression mechanism, that is in contrast with the traces o-f the most of the anticlines axes with the right-hand transpression behavio-r in Zagros suture zone. In the studied region, the displacements in the fa-ults and type of the rotation of anticlines of Dale-pari, Anaran, Siah-kuh, Chenareh, and Dehluran suggests a left-hand transpression behavior for these structures. The author relates this problem to the reaction of Mountain Fro-nt Flexure to the compressional and shear behavior of the Arabian plate. Fi-naly an east west seismic linement is suggested
