چکیده مقاله:

Liquefaction of silty soils cause failures that result in landslides, lateral spreading and damages to buildings. Consolidated undrained cyclic stress and strain controlled triaxial tests are conducted for different silt contents to see the effect of fines on liquefaction potential of sand. Strain controlled tests are found more reliable than stress controlled tesis for evaluating the liquefaction potential of silty soils. Strain controlled tests indicate that for all silt contents, silt plasticity and the number of loading cycles have no significant effect at strain levels below ۰.۰۱%.
